Happy 2019! This week’s menu features fresh, light and summery recipes. First up is a chicken and nectarine summer salad. The combination of flavours is unusual but works really well. Best of all, it’s quick, very easy and you don’t need to turn the oven on. Chargrilled steak with kumara cakes and corn on the cob is second on the list. This one can be cooked outside on the barbecue - perfect for balmy summer evenings. Finish off the week with zucchini, pea and feta fritters. They’re just as good for lunch as they are for dinner, and even better with the addition of bacon or smoked salmon!

Chicken and Nectarine Summer Salad • Chargrilled Steak with Kumara Cakes • Zucchini, Pea and Feta Fritters.

BEST OVERALL WINE MATCH (if you only want to buy one bottle for the 3 meals!):
I would go for a Sauvignon Blanc.

OTHER NOTES:
If there are too many yoghurt-based sauces in this week’s menu for you, you could swap the dressing in the chicken and nectarine summer salad for a simple vinaigrette.
