This week's menu has lots of fresh flavours and a good balance of comfort food and lighter meals. Chicken, pear and haloumi salads are a quick, easy dinner - the bulghur wheat adds a nice nutty texture and helps to fill you up. With temperatures around the country rapidly dropping, shepherd's pie is the perfect winter warmer. Finish off your week with a simple but delicious margarita pizza. BEST OVERALL WINE MATCH (if you only want to buy one bottle for the 3 meals!): A Pinot Gris goes really well with the salad and pizza. Definitely recommend a red for the Shepherd's pie though!
OTHER NOTES: This week's menu uses a lot of different cheeses (yummm!). You can skip the parmesan and just use cheddar instead, if you like. You may have some leftover spinach, pesto and corn kernels. How about scrambled eggs with a little pesto stirred through and a side of sautéed spinach for breakfast one day? You can add the corn to the salad that goes with the margarita pizzas.
